What an astonishing thing a book is. It’s a flat object made from a tree with flexible parts on which are imprinted lots of funny dark squiggles. But one glance at it and you’re inside the mind of another person, maybe somebody dead for thousands of years. Across the millennia, an author is speaking clearly and silently inside your head, directly to you. Writing is perhaps the greatest of human inventions, binding together people who never knew each other, citizens of distant epochs. Books break the shackles of time. A book is proof that humans are capable of working magic.
📖 Return to Reading#
Recently, I have started to adapt to the slow life. Since the concept of "one-person company" began, things have become more complicated and cumbersome. Sometimes, it feels like they are going to swallow me up. Every night, lying in bed, I feel like I have wasted the day, and have done so much useless work, wasting a lot of time.
At the same time, my knowledge storage outside of my profession has started to run dry. I think this is a reminder that I should return to reading.
Today, I saw a recommendation for the book "Deep Work" in the subscribed newsletter. I plan to use this as a standard for regaining focus. If it helps me, I will share some insights later.
💡New Ideas#
- AI Rebranding: After the idea of an AI toolbox was proposed last week, I conducted a simple evaluation of AI tools both domestically and internationally. There are complete sets of systems on the market, ranging from thousands of yuan to hundreds of yuan. When the homogeneity ratio is too high, there are often only differences in UI, reminding me of reskinned mobile games. For these organizations, AI is just a new business opportunity.

Adjusting My Schedule: I have entered a work-from-home state, but because I don't have many friends in Shenzhen, my life is actually more regular than when I was working. I wake up around six in the morning, go downstairs to McDonald's to get a scrambled egg, and organize my to-do list. By around nine o'clock, I naturally start to feel sleepy and go back to sleep. I saw a book excerpt on Twitter that said, "If you have complete confidence in something, you are unlikely to be excited about it. Take the sun, for example. No one gets excited about it rising tomorrow because it is an inevitable phenomenon." For now, I am enjoying the present moment, perhaps because I understand roughly which direction I should strive towards.

App Registration: In the past, I used to feel angry, but now I feel powerless and sad. AI models are evolving rapidly, but what are we fussing over...

- Hong Kong Disneyland: When I was a child, witnessing the fireworks at Disneyland made it onto my bucket list. At the age of 27, when I finally went, I felt that the place was quite small. However, because there are many attractions, I ended up walking around the park the whole time, and it closed while I was still exploring. Little boy, you should be satisfied now.
- Roast Goose vs Rice: I believe that roast goose is the best among roasted meats. On one hand, it is a relatively precious ingredient, and on the other hand, it is not easy to roast. There are many steps involved. So, it is already quite satisfying to have a plate of authentic roast goose rice. But if it's a roast goose competition, then the joy is tripled!!! A good roast goose is served steaming hot, with a rich and fragrant taste. The texture of the skin is crispy like paper, with a unique charcoal aroma. It is evenly fatty and lean, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. In two words: flavorful.

The Path to AIGC: AI applications are currently experiencing explosive growth. In the process of learning and fine-tuning, I increasingly feel how small the human capacity for adjustment is. I often spend the whole day in the studio, and I haven't felt that sense of satisfaction in a long time.
-
"Soldier Assault": During my school days, I was forced to watch clips related to this drama, and I was very resistant to it at one point. But now, as I read through it, I am moved by the simple philosophy within it. "Live well and do meaningful things" is also the essence of life.
-
"My Platoon Leader, My Platoon": A true war film, the song of the educated youth joining the army, and many debate scenes have been watched multiple times. "There is no such thing as something completely untainted. We are all inhaling dust, but it doesn't stop us from doing something a little better."
-
"The Deer and the Cauldron": After returning from Hong Kong's Jin Yong Memorial Hall, I have been wondering why the story ends with Wei Xiaobao as the main character. I revisited the version portrayed by Chen Xiao Chun, a successful drama series where supporting roles are really important.
==🤔Reflection==#
- If you don't have any drafts, really don't go out and wander around. The time you waste will also be waiting for you in emptiness.
- Yesterday, I discussed the current intensity of work with my friends. For an ordinary person, no matter how hard they work, it is highly likely that they will not evolve faster than AI in this dimension. So, it is best to eat well, drink well, and rest well, and enter a state of peaceful life.
- After being alone for a long time, I am increasingly lacking in emotional value. Should I make some adjustments or not?
That's it for now. Time to have some tea. Goodbye!
